Deadline: 5 July 2024.
Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) is a platform that creates a permanent ID for researchers and scholars. Any research output with a DOI and other activities (e.g., peer review) can be linked to it. Thus, it will work as an online academic CV.
The first question “How have you contributed to research teams, careers of others and/or communicating science to the community?” is meant to be space for the candidate to demonstrate your skills inside and outside the lab that, usually, are invisible in a regular academic CV (e.g., mentorship, engagement with the public, peer review, improvement of research integrity, creation of a public policy, event organization or participation in societies).
With the second question, “Give us a personal statement that reflects your goals, motivations and details about your scientific career.”, the candidate can explain not only their current goals and plans but also experiences that happened during the scientific career. Academic career pathways are diverse and conventional metrics (e.g., publications) are foten not able to completely grasp the invisible experience throughout a researcher’s life (e.g., parental leave or living in a low economic area with no scientific support).
EBPS is excited to offer meeting attendees the opportunity to partake in our Mentor-Mentee Program. This will serve as an opportunity for junior investigators and trainees to expand their networks and get to know more senior members of EBPS. There will be both informal and organized events to foster interactions between mentors and mentees. Please note that this program requires participation in a mentor-mentee meet-up on Day 1 of the workshop, prior to the welcome reception. If you would like to partake in this program either as a mentor or a mentee, please complete the information during the registration procedure.
A childcare service is available at the venue during the scientific sessions. If you are planning to make use of this service, you must contact the organisers beforehand, providing information about the number and age of the children who will accompany you.
Deadline: 9 August 2024.
Accommodation for all participants will be at Banff Centre which will also be the workshop venue. Payment for your accommodation is not included in the registration fee: you will be responsible for booking your room directly.
N.B. The room block has a limited number of rooms; it is recommended to book your room as soon as possible, before the room block fills up.
Unfortunately, there is an increasing number of fraudulent websites and email promotions claiming to offer registration and accommodation services. Please be advised that payment for your EBPS 2024 attendance can only be processed through this website, within your personal myEBPS2024 area, after you sign up for an account. Also, the EBPS 2024 Organisers have secured preferential rates only with the hotel mentioned above (using the method indicated) and are in no way responsible for arrangements that you make. Please be aware of possible scams.
All participants will be required to read, sign, and adhere to the Code of Conduct . Any experienced or witness violations can be submitted here (anonymously, if preferred).
